Biography DJ TangoNU
DJ TangoNU is Lucien Lecarme. I dance for more than 20 years now, and started serious DJ-ing in april 2007. I love tango and tangomusic and i decided to take the challenge to become a Tango DJ. Because i organise tangofestivals and salons, a lot of tangogroups send me a demo. Together with my interest in "new " tangomusic i started to make playlists with 60-70 % classical tango ( as to say : Di Sarli, Troilo, Calo, Laurenz, Pugliese e.a), combined with these classical songs in other arrangements by groups that exists and play NOW / NU. That's why i call myself TangoNU, what happens NOW in tangomusic. We cannot denie the development of Electronic tango in this, with groups as Gotan Project, Narcotango, Tanghetto, Otros Aires e.a, and i love this music too. But i am not a Electronic tango DJ. In most of the salons where i play, i only play 5 - 10 % of this music. I rather make bridges with these other arrangements, nicely tuned to the real classic stuff, and play electronic tango when it suits the athmosphere, the place, the dancers.
I rather would call myself an Athmospherical DJ, well tuned with the people, the place, the energy. My background in this is El Corte and inspirators are DJ's like Arthur, Michiel, Arnoud Stefan and Eric Jeurissen himself. My best salon is the Sunday salon in El Corte where magical moments are created, and everybody stands still after a climax, and you can hear all the dancers on the floor breathe one air.... and then.. applause because this beautifull tension is just getting too much and needs a way out !!....
